​​​​Hockey Hall of Famers join a growing lineup of hockey greats supporting Brampton's second hospital

BRAMPTON, ON (July 20, 2026) – Hockey Night in Brampton is adding two hockey icons to its growing lineup, welcoming Edmonton Oilers legend Paul Coffey and Dallas Stars icon Mike Modano to the ice for this year’s charity game.

With Stanley Cup championships, Hockey Hall of Fame careers and decades of unforgettable moments between them, Coffey and Modano bring even more star power to the CAA Centre. They join previously announced NHL alumni Joe Kocur, Kirk Muller, Ryan Getzlaf and Cody Hodgson, current NHL stars Dylan Strome and Owen Power, and coaches Doug Gilmour, Wendel Clark and Gary Roberts.​

Each year, Hockey Night in Brampton turns a summer evening into a citywide show of support, drawing NHL alumni, current players, local leaders, sponsors and residents to help advance Brampton’s second hospital through the William Osler Health System Foundation.

Player Profiles

Paul Coffey

A four-time Stanley Cup champion and three-time James Norris Memorial Trophy winner, Paul Coffey is widely recognized as one of the greatest defencemen in NHL history. Drafted sixth overall by the Edmonton Oilers in 1980, Coffey helped the team win three Stanley Cups before capturing another championship with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1991. He recorded 1,531 points over 21 NHL seasons, ranking second all-time in career points among NHL defencemen. Coffey was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2004.

Mike Modano

A Stanley Cup champion and one of the most celebrated American-born players in NHL history, Mike Modano spent 20 seasons with the Minnesota North Stars and Dallas Stars franchise before concluding his career with the Detroit Red Wings. Drafted first overall by the North Stars in 1988, Modano helped lead Dallas to its first Stanley Cup championship in 1999. He recorded 561 goals and 1,374 points over 1,499 NHL games and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2014.​
