BRAMPTON, ON (May 7, 2026) – The City of Brampton’s Economic Development office celebrated the grand opening of Socomec Canada’s new advanced manufacturing facility, creating 170 jobs and strengthening Brampton’s position as a destination for globally competitive, engineering-driven businesses.

Located at 201 Westcreek Blvd., the 148,000 square foot facility is Socomec’s largest in Canada and marks the company’s third facility in Brampton. With over 500 local jobs created throughout their Brampton facilities, the company’s continued growth reflects strong confidence in the city as a place where global manufacturers can grow, modernize and scale operations while creating local employment.

Socomec’s cutting edge technology aligns directly with Brampton’s fastest-growing sectors and the broader needs of the GTA economy. By supporting local production of globally in-demand technology, the facility advances Brampton’s role in the energy, infrastructure and advanced manufacturing supply chain. These products also support the city’s climate and energy goals by helping reduce energy waste and improve efficiency in major facilities.

Sustained growth and investment across Brampton’s economy

The Economic Development Office’s 2025 Annual Report highlights sustained growth across advanced manufacturing, food processing and innovation-driven sectors. Major investments from Mobile Climate Control, Marcangelo Foods and Coca-Cola Canada Bottling continue to strengthen Brampton’s industrial base and create new economic opportunities across the city. Socomec’s expansion builds on this momentum by adding another globally recognized manufacturer to the list of companies choosing Brampton for long-term growth.

About Socomec

The expansion supports Socomec Canada’s continued global growth and its ability to meet rising demand for energy-efficient power solutions, particularly within the rapidly expanding data infrastructure sector. At the Brampton sites, Socomec manufactures high-efficiency transformers and Power Distribution Units (PDUs), essential technologies that enable reliable and efficient power distribution for data centres, hospitals and other high-demand environments.

Earlier this year, Socomec Canada was recognized during the City’s 2026 State of the City address as one of 10 companies honoured for significant expansion, highlighting the company’s role in driving economic growth and job creation in Brampton. The company’s continued presence in the city also includes facilities located at 8985 Airport Rd. and 5 Parkshore Dr.
