Brampton will transform into a high-energy destination where fans can watch history unfold. Live match screenings, cultural programming, fan experiences and soccer-inspired activations will animate public spaces and create a shared sense of pride and excitement.
While not a host city, Brampton plays a defining role in Canada’s soccer story. Local fields, community programs and neighbourhood clubs continue to develop elite athletes who represent Canada on the world stage. This legacy spans both the Canada men’s and women’s national soccer teams and continues to shape the next generation of talent.
Across neighbourhood parks, recreation programs and local clubs, young athletes build skill, resilience and confidence. These pathways support long-term development and reinforce Brampton’s reputation as one of the country’s leading communities for soccer talent.
Where the Game Grows
This summer’s celebrations are part of Brampton’s Where the Game Grows campaign, highlighting the people, programs and places driving soccer’s growth across the city.
Residents and visitors can take part in a season of match screenings, fan experiences, community events and local business activations. Accessible recreation programs and diverse leagues continue to expand participation and reflect Brampton’s deep connection to the sport.
These celebrations are part of Canada Celebrates the FIFA World Cup 2026™, a countrywide program delivering free, family-friendly fan experiences bringing FIFA World Cup™ to communities across Canada.
All events are free and open to the public, offering accessible opportunities for residents and visitors to take part in this historic moment.
Momentum building across the city
The road to July began in March, when the City hosted a community kickoff celebration at City Hall, welcoming homegrown soccer talent ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026™.

Held on Thursday, March 26, the event launched of a summer of soccer-inspired programming and celebrated athletes whose journeys began in Brampton. Residents met national team players, participated in autograph sessions and recognizes the city’s role in developing elite talent.
Recognized players and alumni included Atiba Hutchinson, Cyle Larin, Doneil Henry, Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty, Jonathan Osorio, Junior Hoilett, Liam Millar, Paul Stalteri and Tajon Buchanan, highlighting Brampton’s ongoing contribution to the lasting impact the city has had in developing players for the national program.
