Expansion helps eligible residents travel on Brampton Transit at reduced PRESTO fares starting April 1, 2026

BRAMPTON, ON (March 26, 2026) – The City of Brampton, the Town of Caledon and the City of Mississauga, in partnership with Peel Region, are expanding the Affordable Transit Program (ATP) to improve transit affordability for low-income residents.

Beginning April 1, 2026, eligible residents will get a 50 per cent subsidy on single PRESTO fares when travelling on Brampton Transit.

The expansion introduces a new subsidy on single PRESTO fares for adults, youth and seniors (Caledon residents only), while continuing the subsidized adult monthly PRESTO pass.

The program now includes Caledon residents travelling on Brampton Transit buses, helping more people access employment, education and community services across the region.

New single PRESTO fare subsidy begins April 1

With the new subsidy, eligible participants will pay 50 per cent of the regular PRESTO fare on Brampton Transit:

  • Adult fare: $1.78
  • Youth fare: $1.48
  • Senior fare (Caledon residents only): $0.93

Eligibility and how to apply

Brampton and Caledon residents with incomes below the Low-Income Measure thresholds are eligible to apply for the subsidy through Peel Region. Applicants can apply online and will require their most recent Notice of Assessment and a registered PRESTO card.
