Advisory group will empower residents aged 14 to 29 and help shape City programs, events and initiatives
BRAMPTON, ON (February 23, 2026) – The City of Brampton is calling on residents aged 14 to 29 to apply for the Brampton Youth Cabinet, launching in September 2026. This new advisory group provides a platform for young voices, leadership and perspectives.
The Youth Cabinet gives young people opportunities to support youth-led projects and events while sharing youth voices and perspectives. The initiative responds to a recent youth survey highlighting young residents’ desire for more opportunities to influence their community.
Eligibility and commitment
- General membership open to Brampton residents aged 14 to 29.
- Annual term from September to June with regular and ad hoc meetings and events.
- Commitment to regular attendance and active participation.
- Executive members receive an honorarium and transit pass.
The Brampton Youth Cabinet will be led by Co-Leads and organized into working groups focused on four key areas: events, outreach, communications and advisory. The Cabinet is made up of 25 executive members. Applicants may apply for positions aligned with their interests and skill sets.

Residents can complete the online application or submit a paper application at City Hall.
By joining the Brampton Youth Cabinet, members gain valuable leadership experience, build new skills and connect with peers who share a passion for making a difference. It is a chance to shape City programs, support events and initiatives, contribute ideas and earn recognition for building a stronger, more inclusive Brampton.
The Brampton Youth Cabinet is a key tactic in the City of Brampton’s 2026-2030 Youth Engagement Strategy, a comprehensive roadmap designed to empower Brampton’s youth and amplify their voices in civic life. Released in June 2025, the Strategy will guide the City’s efforts over the next five years and strengthen connection, support and inspiration for youth across Brampton.
