BRAMPTON, ON (January 23, 2026) – The City of Brampton has been recognized by Forbes as one of Canada’s Best Employers 2026, reinforcing the City’s standing as an employer valuing its people and committed to fostering a workplace nurturing talent, supporting inclusion and encouraging innovation.

In 2025, the City supported its workforce by:
- Hosting professional development events for People Leaders and staff.
- Offering frequent in-person learning opportunities focused on professional and wellness topics.
- Launching a Mentorship Program promoting leadership development from within the organization.
- Hosting the second Career Development Day, with over 10 tertiary institutions attending for career cafés.
- Offering Resume Writing and Interview Techniques workshops, along with ongoing learning and development support through internal workshops.
- Providing financial assistance for external learning pursuits through the City’s Education Assistance Program.
As part of the City’s continued commitment to incorporating equity, diversity and inclusion principles into its workplace and culture, in 2025 the City:
- Released the first Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Strategy 2025–2026, outlining the City’s commitment to advancing equity, removing systemic barriers and fostering a culture of belonging for employees.
- Added an additional Employee Resource Group (ERG), bringing the City’s total number of ERGs to four, including Black Employee Engagement Network (BEEN) Women Empowerment Network (WEN), Brampton Muslim Network (BMN) and Supporting Pride, Advocacy, Representation, and Kingship (SPARK) supporting inclusion belonging and empowerment for equity-deserving staff.
