About Annie Bynoe
Annie Bynoe is a passionate community leader whose decades-long career in social services reflects her belief in the human potential. She is a servant leader who is dedicated to opening doors to self-sufficiency and opportunities that help individuals and families thrive.
As Executive Director of Knights Table, Annie has led the organization through a time of unprecedented need for food security in Brampton. Under her leadership, Knights Table has expanded its reach and strengthened its capacity to serve thousands of residents every year. She has envisioned and created innovative programs for families, developed initiatives for youths and seniors, and ensured children get a healthy start to school through breakfast programs.
Annie introduced the Mobile Community Kitchen food truck during the pandemic, bringing meals directly to vulnerable communities at a time when access to food was most critical. She was also instrumental in bringing the Brampton Food Hub to life—a collaborative effort led by Knights Table alongside four founding partners and supported by more than 40 organizations. The Hub ensures culturally appropriate food access for racialized communities and strengthens food security systems across Brampton. Most recently, she played a pivotal role in helping Knights Table acquire a new property, securing a permanent home for the organization and positioning it for future growth.
Annie’s commitment to empowering people has defined her entire career. She has held a variety of leadership roles focused on helping individuals move from vulnerability to stability, always guided by her belief in human potential. From mentoring hundreds of youths in Brampton high schools—many of whom are now thriving as leaders—to leading collaborative and innovative solutions to address food insecurity, Annie’s work reflects her tireless dedication to service and community building.
Her contributions to the community have earned her numerous accolades, including the prestigious Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, recognizing her outstanding service to the society. Through her vision, compassion, and collaborative approach, Annie continues to lead efforts that serve, uplift, and empower individuals and families across Brampton to thrive.
