Discover Local Talent at a Brampton-Curated Culture Days Experience

This year, following a successful call for curators, the City is spotlighting local talent as part of its Culture Days lineup. Brampton-based artists, collectives and cultural organizations were invited to submit proposals for interactive, community-focused events. Three applicants were selected, and residents and visitors are invited to celebrate and support them at their events. The local curators include:

  • Meegan Lim, who will be delivering a series called Moon & Memory: A Mid-Autumn Art Series. This collection of in-person, intergenerational workshops will blend traditional and contemporary folk arts, exploring cultural storytelling rooted in East and Southeast Asian heritage.
  • Pamela Levi, a First Nations singer/songwriter from Elsipogtog First Nation, will host an interactive songwriting circle at the Historic Bovaird Log House. Participants will meet fellow musicians, share original songs and receive feedback in a supportive space.
  • Happy Hands Pottery & Art Studio, along with artist Angelica Candido will present a four-part creative series at their Mill St. studio, blending visual art, poetry, place-based storytelling and networking. The series will culminate with an open-mic night and artist showcase.
  • Brampton Latinos Association presents Raíces y Ritmos, a participatory Latin dance and culture series featuring Bachata, Salsa, Merengue and Cumbia. Each event combines an interactive performance, a community dance lesson and an educational component exploring each genre’s roots and cultural significance.
