​​​BRAMPTON, ON (August 7, 2025) – Buffalo Sabres defenceman Owen Power is the latest NHL star to join Mayor Patrick Brown’s Hockey Night in Brampton 2025. With just two weeks to go, the charity hockey game continues to build momentum as more top-tier talent unites in support of building Brampton’s second hospital. 

Power, the first overall pick in 2021 NHL Draft quickly established himself as one of the league’s top young defencemen. Known for his size and two-way play, Power recorded 33 points in 79 games during 2023-24 season with Sabres. The young talent has also represented Canada on the international stage, helping lead Team Canada to gold at the 2021 IIHF World Championship and playing a key role in 2022 Winter Olympics.

Hockey Night in Brampton 2025 lineup

He joins an impressive roster that includes Stanley Cup champion Ryan Getzlaf, Hall of Fame talent Curtis Joseph, veteran leader Mark Giordano, and dynamic players Taylor Raddysh, Darren Raddysh, Travis Barron and Phil Oreskovic. Also hitting the ice are Olympic gold medallists Blayre Turnbull and Renata Fast, fan favourites Jeremy Roenick, Cody Hodgson, Terry Ryan, Owen Nolan and Ron MacLean, with the event hosted by Rod Black and Amrit Gill. Together, this lineup promises an unforgettable night of hockey for a great cause.

In 2024, Hockey Night in Brampton raised a record $14 million in support of William Osler Health System Foundation, making it the largest charity hockey game in Canadian history.

Owen Power is a defenceman for the Buffalo Sabres and one of hockey’s brightest young stars. Drafted first overall in the 2021 NHL Draft, Power quickly transitioned from a standout career at the University of Michigan to becoming a key player in Buffalo’s lineup. In the 2023–24 season, he recorded 33 points in 79 games while showcasing his elite hockey IQ and composure under pressure. Internationally, Power won gold with Team Canada at the 2021 IIHF World Championship and represented Canada at the 2022 Winter Olympics.
