​​BRAMPTON, ON (July 28, 2025) – NHLers Taylor Raddysh of the New York Rangers and Darren Raddysh of the Tampa Bay Lightning are among the newest additions to Mayor Patrick Brown’s Hockey Night in Brampton 2025 lineup. Also joining the roster are former Toronto Maple Leaf Phil Oreskovic and Travis Barron, a standout forward and Colorado Avalanche draft pick.

With strong local ties and NHL-level talent, these new players bring even more energy to an already dynamic lineup. The all-star charity game takes place on Wednesday, August 20 at the CAA Centre, with proceeds supporting the development of Brampton’s second hospital. ​

A growing roster of elite talent and community icons

This year’s lineup includes iconic goaltender Curtis Joseph, Norris Trophy winner Mark Giordano, and returning NHLers Dylan Strome, Liam Foudy, Erik Gudbranson and Jack McBain. Olympic gold medallists Blayre Turnbull, captain of the Toronto PWHL team, and her teammate Renata Fast also join the roster, representing the highest level of women’s professional hockey. Rounding out the previously announced participants are NHL greats Jeremy Roenick and Cody Hodgson, along with former Montreal Canadiens forward and Shorsey star Terry Ryan. Back this year to coach the teams are NHL icons Darryl Sittler and Wendel Clark, adding veteran leadership and star power behind the bench.

Returning as referee and host is Rod Black, one of the most recognized voices in Canadian sports broadcasting. Known for his energy, storytelling and passion for hockey, Black brings a unique presence that resonates with fans and participants alike. He will be joined by Amrit Gill, who made history in 2015 as the first woman to appear on Hockey Night in Canada’s Punjabi Edition. Widely respected for her work in amplifying underrepresented voices in sport, Gill will co-host this year’s event, offering an inclusive and engaging perspective to the game experience.

City of Brampton’s Youth Sport Development Program in partnership with Phil Oreskovic

Phil Oreskovic leads a free Youth Sport Development Program in Brampton that offers children aged 4 to 15 the chance to learn and build ball, dryland and ice hockey fundamentals through entry-level instruction at local rinks. The program focuses on building skills, teamwork and confidence while encouraging community participation and a love for the game. Player Profiles

Taylor Raddysh

Originally drafted in the second round in 2016, Raddysh brings scoring touch and size to the ice. In the 2024–25 season with the Washington Capitals, he tallied 7 goals and 27 points in 80 games, often making an impact with limited ice time. In July 2025, he signed a two-year contract with the New York Rangers, adding value to their depth at forward. He was also a member of Team Canada’s gold medal–winning 2018 World Junior team and won two Memorial Cup championships with the Erie Otters.

Darren Raddysh

Currently a defenceman for the Tampa Bay Lightning, Darren made his NHL debut in 2021 and has since become a reliable two-way blueliner. In the 2023–24 season, he played 73 games, notching 25 points and earning top-four minutes in Tampa’s defensive rotation. Darren was undrafted but earned his place through strong showings in the AHL and OHL, where he won the Max Kaminsky Trophy as the OHL’s Defenceman of the Year in 2016–17.

Travis Barron

Travis Barron is a hard-working, versatile forward known for his physical play and leadership qualities. Selected 191st overall by the Colorado Avalanche in the 2016 NHL Draft, Barron currently plays under contract with the Utah Mammoth. He spent the 2023–24 season in the AHL with the Tucson Roadrunners, Utah’s affiliate, where he posted 10 goals and 20 points over 68 games. A former captain of the Ottawa 67’s, Barron has played more than 150 professional games and remains a valued contributor across multiple organizations for his two-way game and relentless effort.

Phil Oreskovic

Phil Oreskovic built a reputation as a dependable, physical presence throughout his professional hockey career, earning recognition for his leadership and commitment to team play. Drafted 82nd overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2005, he appeared in 10 games with the Leafs during the 2008–09 season, recording one goal and two assists. He spent the majority of his career with the Toronto Marlies in the AHL and also played for the Toronto Roadrunners. Oreskovic developed his game with the Brampton Battalion of the OHL and remains actively involved in the sport through a youth hockey development program in Brampton delivered in partnership with local organizations.

In 2024 the event raised an incredible $14 million making it the largest charity hockey game in Canadian history. Tickets for this year’s game are available now for $25 at hockeynightbrampton.ca​.
