Globally observed on May 26, Guyanese Independence Day commemorates Guyana gaining independence and symbolizes the resiliency, unity and determination of the Guyanese people.

In partnership with the West Indian Community Brampton, the City will mark the occasion with a community flag raising and reception at City Hall. This celebration reflects Brampton’s ongoing commitment to honouring the many cultures that shape and strengthen the city’s diverse community.
