Balmoral Recreation Centre has been a community pillar for more than 50 years, and the City invested approximately $25 million to ensure the facility can continue to serve the community for generations to come.
The City broke ground on the project in the spring of 2022, which included several key enhancements:
- Expanded facility from 17,000 square feet to approximately 35,000 square feet, nearly double its original size.
- Fully revitalized pool area with enhanced lighting, an expanded and resurfaced pool deck, sauna and updated change rooms, offering a modern and safe experience for users. Currently, Brampton's deepest pool with a maximum depth of 12 feet, the revitalized amenity can accommodate Advanced Leadership programs.
- A new outdoor splash pad and playground.
- A new multi-sport gymnasium, featuring an International Basketball Federation (FIBA) sized court.
- Redesigned community rooms that provide flexible rental spaces for social gatherings and recreational programming.
- Energy-efficient lighting and HVAC systems, contributing to the City’s environmental goals.
Now, residents can once again enjoy a wide range of classes and activities that will operate at this facility. Drop-in programs at Balmoral Recreation Centre are available, and registered programs, including summer camps, will return in July.
