Brampton honours the powerful ripple effect of volunteerism and expresses appreciation for those making a difference

BRAMPTON, ON (April 25, 2025) – From April 27 to May 3, the City of Brampton joins communities across Canada in celebrating National Volunteer Week 2025, recognizing the invaluable contributions of volunteers and their powerful role in shaping a stronger, more connected city.

Each year, National Volunteer Week offers an opportunity to highlight the important contributions of approximately 24 million volunteers in communities across Canada, including in Brampton. It is estimated that Canadians volunteer 2.5 billion hours every year, equivalent to roughly 2.5 million full-time jobs.

This year’s theme, Volunteers Make Waves, highlights the ripple effect of volunteer effort, demonstrating the way a single act of service can inspire change, uplift individuals and create lasting impacts across a community.

Volunteers are a vital part of what makes Brampton thrive. Their time, skills and dedication add tremendous value to City programs and services, helping to expand the City’s reach, deepen community impact and create more inclusive and supportive spaces for all. From mentoring youth and supporting cultural events to enhancing public safety and environmental efforts, their contributions are felt in every corner of the city. The City of Brampton extends its heartfelt appreciation to every volunteer for their unwavering commitment.
