BRAMPTON, ON (June 29, 2023) – Today, the City of Brampton in partnership with Metrolinx, announced the naming rights agreement for Brampton GO Station, to be renamed Brampton Innovation District GO.
Aptly renamed due to its location, Brampton Innovation District GO is in the heart of downtown Brampton and the City’s growing Innovation District.
The new station name is part of a 10-year agreement with Metrolinx that will give the City exclusive rights to associate the word “Innovation” with GO stations across the entire Metrolinx network and in GO transit collateral (maps, schedules, etc.), providing a unique exposure opportunity for Brampton.
The announcement today included the unveiling of new window signage in the George Street bus loop, to be followed this fall by permanent signage throughout the station and across the GO network and the Brampton Transit system.
Through increased awareness of the Brampton Innovation District, this partnership with Metrolinx will further enhance Brampton’s position as an innovation and technology event destination to host tech sector events and international delegations, and enhance Brampton’s unique ability to attract highly skilled tech talent from both Toronto and Waterloo.

The Innovation District has a sharp focus on start-up scaling, investment attraction and talent development. The Brampton Innovation District provides local talent development and support for entrepreneurs and new business owners through every stage of their journey, from education, training and re-skilling to support for companies of all sizes and across all sectors. The Innovation District is a developing ecosystem which also offers resources to support innovation and technology companies in creating new technology.
Located in the middle of the Canada’s Innovation Corridor and conveniently connected by the GO train, Brampton is putting the pieces in place to take a lead role in the Corridor.
