​BRAMPTON, ON (November 15, 2021) – Winter weather has arrived and Brampton’s crews are ready! Our team has been working around the clock to ensure we are prepared to clear City-owned roads, sidewalks, transit stops, recreational trails and school crossings, so that residents can get to where they are going safely.
 
The City reminds residents that being winter-ready is a team effort and with everyone’s help, this season can be safer for all:

• In case of emergency, be prepared to take care of yourself and your family for at least 72 hours. Prepare a 72-hour safety kit for your home and vehicle.
• Clear sidewalks of ice, snow, and slush promptly after snowfall;
• Parking on streets is not allowed and will be enforced during winter weather events. Please move vehicles to ensure plows, salters and emergency vehicles can safely pass by;
• If it has been more than 24 hours since the snowfall has ended and your street still requires attention, let the City know by calling 311, submitting a service request on the 311 mobile app, emailing 311@brampton.ca, or visiting www.311brampton.ca;
• Snow removal financial assistance is available to eligible seniors and homeowners with physical disabilities. Learn more: ow.ly/D2R050xgPq2.

City’s Plow Tracker

In 2019, Brampton City Council approved increasing service levels on local roads from 7.5 cm accumulation to 5.0 cm, meaning crews are dispatched sooner during a winter weather event.

Residents can see what roads and sidewalks crews have cleared using the City’s Plow Tracker on www.brampton.ca/snow and on the 311 mobile app! The app can be downloaded from Google Play or the App Store. Using this tool, residents can check snow maintenance progress, road priorities, and if a plow is near them so that they can move their vehicles off the road. Service requests can also be submitted.
