City of Brampton recognized as #13 on Maclean’s list for Best Communities in Canada 2021

BRAMPTON, ON (April 9, 2021) – The City of Brampton has been recognized by Maclean’s Magazine as one of Canada’s Best Communities 2021, a ranking of the best places to live in the country.

Last year, Brampton placed 199th on the list. This year, Brampton climbed to 13 of 415 cities. The ranking highlights each community’s top features, where Brampton’s Community Involvement, Amenities and Internet Connectivity distinguished the city as one of the top places to live and work remotely in Canada.

Maclean’s exclusive new ranking of the best places to live in the country takes into account the COVID-19 pandemic and that more people are working and studying from home. Using data provided by Environics Analytics and the Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA), as well as publicly available figures from a variety of sources, they weighted a range of categories based on how important they believe each would be to the average person and ranked each municipality accordingly.

The Maclean’s ranking considered housing affordability, population growth, taxes, crime, weather, access to health care, amenities and community engagement. It also included a new category rating broadband performance based on data from CIRA.
