City seeks emerging talent to perform at one of Canada’s top music festivals

​BRAMPTON, ON (March 6, 2020) – Calling all up-and-coming musicians in Brampton!

The City invites local talent to apply to perform at This is Brampton at the 2020 North by Northeast (NXNE) festival. Part of the NXNE Club Land Series, This is Brampton @ NXNE is a curated showcase of Brampton’s rising music scene at The Drake Hotel (1150 Queen Street West, Toronto) that will take place on Friday, June 19, 2020.

Successful applicants will be paid for their performance, have the opportunity to perform at the iconic Drake Hotel, be featured in NXNE marketing material and receive passes to all NXNE Curator Series + Interactive Sessions.

Local musicians and bands of all genres can visit www.brampton.ca/NXNE for more details on this incredible opportunity. Artists are required to provide links to their music recordings and live performances. A panel of Brampton artists and industry experts will review the submissions and select up to five successful candidates. The application deadline is March 31. The list of selected artists will be announced on April 20.

This is the City’s third year participating in the NXNE Club Land Series, which is curated by top Canadian musicians, industry leaders and associations.  In 2019, This is Brampton @ NXNE showcased Brampton artists Zenesoul, Kae Music, Reeko Rieffe, Noyz Ft. Tremayne and Scotty IV. In 2020, the festival will feature more than 40 shows at some of Toronto’s top venues.
