Pop sensation Lights to headline Brampton’s biggest festival of the year: Canada Day!

BRAMPTON, ON (June 12, 2019) – Get ready for gourmet food, craft beer, family-friendly activities, a spectacular fireworks show and exciting stage performances at Brampton’s biggest festival of the year - Canada Day on Monday, July 1 at Chinguacousy Park! The City is thrilled to announce this year’s headliner, JUNO-winning Canadian singer/songwriter, Lights.

The event will take place from noon to 10 pm on July 1. Mainstage performances begin at 6 pm with Brampton Arts Walk of Fame inductee and five-time JUNO Award-winner, Exco Levi and High Priest. Canadian pop-duo Elijah Woods x Jamie Fine, known for their Double Platinum-certified debut single “Ain’t Easy”, will open for alt-pop sensation Lights, who will headline the show with her high-energy, electronic performance that has sold out tours around the world.

Activities will be hosted in the Community Area (presented by Brampton Automall) throughout the day, with games, crafts, art installations, photo opportunities, community art projects, and more. Attendees can also visit the splash pad and the petting zoo, play a round of mini-golf, or take a relaxing paddle boat ride during the day. These family-friendly amenities will be open from noon to 6 pm.

A spectacular fireworks display presented by Tim Hortons will take place at 10 pm to commemorate Canada’s birthday.

New this year, two food zones will feature a range of global flavours with gourmet food trucks, vendors and a craft beer garden. As part of our Green City initiatives, vendors will be using environmentally-friendly alternatives for food packaging. Guests are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle with them to take advantage of the many water refill stations throughout the park, provided by Meridian.

Chinguacousy Park is located at 9050 Bramalea Road. On-site parking is limited, and temporary road closures will be in place. Attendees are encouraged to walk, ride their bikes, or take advantage of the free shuttle service offered by Brampton Transit for the day.
