Better GO service coming soon for Brampton

BRAMPTON, ON (August 15, 2019) - Today, the Province of Ontario announced expanded GO service across all the major lines, with specific improvements that will benefit Brampton commuters and visitors.

The additional service includes 84 total new weekly trips across the Kitchener, Lakeshore East and Lakeshore West GO lines and 65 extended weekly trips across the Kitchener and Lakeshore West lines.

Highlights for Brampton include:
• With the new service, Brampton will now see 50 weekly train trips along the Kitchener GO line
• New late-night weekly service between Union Station and Kitchener GO
• Hourly weekday evening service between Union Station and Bramalea GO
• A weekday express trip from Union Station to Bramalea GO, then making all stops west to Kitchener GO that will save at least 10 minutes for Brampton commuters

The new service improvements for Brampton are expected to be running by September 3. More schedule details can be found on GO Transit’s website.

This GO service expansion comes not long after new service improvements announced by Brampton Transit.

“This is a welcome announcement and great news for Brampton residents. Our goal is two-way, all-day GO service for Brampton, but we see this as a step towards that goal, making commuting easier and more convenient, supporting an even more compelling rationale for business investment in Brampton, and supporting economic growth along the Innovation Corridor.”
Mayor Patrick Brown

“Combined with the increased Brampton Transit service we are deploying in September, today’s announcement is welcome news for Brampton residents. We’re excited by the growth of all forms of public transit in Brampton, and we’re working with all partners and stakeholders to find more ways to continue to build a strong, sustainable transit system.”
