Make Brampton green at tree planting events across the city

​BRAMPTON, ON (April 11, 2019) – In celebration of Earth Day 2019 on April 22, the City of Brampton is hosting four community tree plantings across the city in the coming weeks.

The following events are taking place. 

Saturday, April 27 | 10 am to 12 pm

• Norton Place Park, 170 Clark Boulevard
Tree planting and a free barbecue.

• Teramoto Park, 9020 Chinguacousy Road
Tree planting in partnership with Credit Valley Conservation.

• Claireville Conservation Area, 8998 Claireville Conservation Road
Tree planting in partnership with Toronto and Region Conservation Authority.

Saturday, May 4 | 10 am to 1 pm

• Valleybrook Park, 244 Pressed Brick Drive
Annual scout community tree planting and a free barbecue in partnership with Toronto and Region Conservation Authority.

To register for one of the tree planting events, visit www.brampton.ca/parks. The deadline to register is April 25. Participants should dress for the weather and wear closed-toe shoes. Shovels and gloves will be provided, but are limited. Participants are encouraged to bring their own if possible. Events will take place rain or shine.

The Earth Day Network aims to plant 7.8 billion trees by Earth Day 2020 - one tree for every person on the planet. According to the organization, more than one billion people in 192 countries take part in Earth Day activities, making it the largest civic observance in the world.
