Five new members to be inducted into Brampton’s Sports Hall of Fame

​​​​BRAMPTON, ON – Brampton is full of talent across several industries, and now, five outstanding Bramptonians are set to be honoured for their contributions to sport in our city.

This year, these five individuals will be inducted into the Brampton Sports Hall of Fame:

• In the Builder category, Dave Doherty will be inducted for his dedication to the baseball community in Brampton, including 23 years with Brampton Minor Baseball Incorporated.

• Don Doan will also be inducted as a Builder for his contribution to enhancing the sports community in our city, including advocating for the provision of facilities and his assistance as advisor to numerous youth and adult community sports groups.

• In the Athlete category, Michael Hasen will be celebrated for his success as a lacrosse player and coach.

• Michael Meeks will join the Hall of Fame as an Athlete in recognition of his success in basketball.

• Robbie Taylor will also be recognized in the Athlete category for his accomplishments in swimming.

The 39th Annual Brampton Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on Tuesday, May 14, at the Rose Theatre Brampton. A cocktail dinner begins at 6 pm, followed by the induction ceremony and reception. The year’s keynote speaker is Evanka Osmak, co-anchor of Sportsnet Central.

The Brampton Sports Hall of Fame was founded in 1979 by a group of dedicated sport enthusiasts in conjunction with the City of Brampton. It is located in the CAA Centre on 7575 Kennedy Road South.
