Brampton On Stage presents Hamlet starring Canadian-Pakistani superstar Ahad Raza Mir opening October 12 at The Rose

​An all-star cast combines a ghost story, a detective story, and a revenge story into one unforgettable night of theatre 

BRAMPTON, ON (October 10, 2023) – Brampton On Stage in partnership with The Shakespeare Company and Hit & Myth Productions is thrilled to present Shakespeare’s classic, Hamlet. The production will star an award-winning Canadian-Pakistani actor, Ahad Raza Mir, in the iconic role of Hamlet. Residents and visitors are invited for a captivating week of drama, passion, and action from October 12 to 18 exclusively at The Rose in Brampton. Tickets are available for purchase now. Hamlet is proudly presented by Royal Bank of Canada (RBC).

About Ahad Raza Mir

In 2014, Ahad Raza Mir graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drama. After graduating, he moved to his native country, Pakistan, where his film and television career took off from his first production, Yaqeen Ka Safar.  Through this production, Ahad earned Pakistan's most prestigious acting awards including the Lux Award for Best Actor and three Hum Awards, including Best Actor. Ahad has established an international fan base spreading across India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, the UK, and North America through his work with Netflix, Zee5, and his recent appearance in World on Fire on the BBC. Along with acting, Mir has been an ambassador representing multi-national brands such as PepsiCo, Unilever, Nestle, L'Oréal and Coca-Cola. 

About Hamlet 

Adapted for Brampton’s stage, this ghostly reimagining of one of the Bard’s greatest works, features a diverse cast and creative team from across Canada. Directed by Haysam Kadri, this production is a furious, fast-paced Hamlet for our times, an electrifying tale of unhinged vengeance and tainted love that will thrill both purist and modern Shakespearean fans.
