​​​​Members of the media are invited to join the City of Brampton to celebrate Brampton’s soccer legacy. The afternoon will begin with a sport field naming ceremony, followed by the presentation of the Key to the City at Brampton City Hall. 

Sport field naming ceremony

The sport field naming ceremony will recognize six Brampton-connected players who represented Canada’s Men’s Soccer Team during the 2026 World Cup: Cyle Larin, Tajon Buchanan, Jonathan Osorio, Liam Millar, Promise David and Jayden Nelson. The event includes remarks by Mayor Patrick Brown, player appearances, opportunities to capture event footage and will be emceed by Canadian sports broadcaster Rod Black.

TIME: 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

LOCATION: Morris Kerbel Park, 292 Conestoga Dr. 

Free on-site parking is available within the park and recreation centre complex.

Key to the City ceremony 

The evening will continue at Brampton City Hall with the presentation of the Key to the City to Brampton-native and professional soccer player, Cyle Larin. The ceremony will include remarks from Mayor Patrick Brown, the presentation of the Key to the City and an acceptance speech from Cyle Larin.

LOCATION: Brampton City Hall, 2 Wellington St. W.

Free parking is available in the City Hall Parking Garage, which can be accessed from George Street.
