Members of the media are invited to attend a celebration marking the start of construction on Riverwalk Phase One: Downtown Brampton Flood Mitigation Project, a once-in-a-generation investment that will protect downtown Brampton from future flooding and unlock new opportunities for growth, housing and economic development.

Mayor Patrick Brown, Regional Councillor Michael Palleschi and Regional Councillor Rowena Santos on behalf of Toronto and Region Conservation Authority, will be joined by Sonia Sidhu, Member of Parliament for Brampton South and Amarjot Sandhu, Member of Provincial Parliament for Brampton West and Parliamentary Assistant to Ontario’s Minister of Infrastructure, to mark this historic milestone.

Media will have an opportunity to hear remarks from dignitaries and capture photos and video of the celebration.
