​​Mayor Patrick Brown, Regional Councillor Rowena Santos and members of the community are celebrating the official unveiling of a new monument at Brampton’s Emancipation Park. The new monument symbolizes the vibrancy, resilience and cultural heritage of Black-identifying Canadians. Residents and visitors are invited to learn, celebrate and reflect on their journey toward freedom and equality.

Members of the media will hear remarks from Mayor Brown, Regional Councillor Santos and other project supporters, experience traditional ceremonies, view the monument and capture footage of the event.
