School is back in full swing! Keep your children engaged, active and having fun with after school programs and activities at City of Brampton Recreation Centres. 

After School Drop-Ins 

Which programs are running? 

A variety of drop-ins are available during after school timeslots, beginning at 3 pm and onwards, including: 

  • Fitness centre drop-in for participants ages 14+ 
  • Shinnies and public skating for all ages and 14 to 17 year olds 
  • Basketball drop-in for ages 10-13 and ages 14 to 17
Some of our most popular programs for youth include drop-in basketball, public skates, shinny and use of Community Centre fitness facilities. 

What is the process to register?

Participants can register using an existing or new City of Brampton Recreation registration account. Setting up an account is convenient and free. To set up an account, visit brampton.ca/registerforprograms and click on “Create a Recreation Account.”

In line with the Government of Ontario’s regulations requiring proof of vaccination to enter certain settings, City of Brampton Recreation will require proof of vaccination starting September 22, 2021. Continue reading below to learn more.​

What ages can register? 

Age requirements are program dependent and can be located in the program title.

What is the cost? 

The cost for each program varies. A one-time visit can begin as low as $1.81 plus HST. Package visits and memberships are also available. Get more information on availability and cost​.

Ontario After School Program 

The Ontario Afterschool Program (ASP) is a grant program providing opportunities to children within Brampton. The program consists of programming centered around physical activities, healthy eating, wellness and community. On average, 190 children take part in this program every school year.

When does this program begin? 

The Ontario ASP is a free program that is set to begin on November 9 and run until June 30.

What does this program include? 

This program includes physical, social and nutritional elements including physical activity and literacy, social skill development activities and healthy eating education.

When and where does this program take place?

The Ontario ASP runs at five Recreation Centre locations (Cassie Campbell Community Centre, Save Max Sports Centre, Century Gardens Recreation Centre, Earnscliffe Recreation Centre and Greenbriar Recreation Centre). This program runs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3 - 6 pm during the school year calendar.

What is the process to register? 

School principals, teachers or support staff typically encourage students to register in this program and assist with facilitating the program registration. Parents or guardians can also register children directly by visiting a participating centre. 

What ages can register? 

Students ages 4 to 14 can participate in this program. City of Brampton Recreation will require participants 12 years of age and older to provide proof of their vaccination status (some exemptions apply). Continue reading below for more information.

Proof of Vaccination Requirements

In accordance with Ontario regulations, the following proof of vaccination requirements apply for patrons visiting City of Brampton Recreation facilities beginning September 22, 2021.

Proof of vaccination required for:

Participants between 12 and 17 years of age participating in drop-in and registered non-sports programs (including Arts, General Interest, Music, STEM).

Participants 12 years and older spectating and participating in a rental.

Adults 18 years and older accessing the facility for any purpose.

Some exemptions apply.

Proof of vaccination not required for:

Youth under 18 years of age actively participating in an organized sport, including training, practices, games and competitions. This includes drop-in and registered sports programs, and sports leagues.
