Brampton's PathWays Wayfinding Signs
|
Brampton's open space infrastructure is a community asset that has helped to distinguish Brampton from other communities in Ontario.
Open space helps to define Brampton by establishing an environmental context for built form and providing an avenue for community stewardship and health.
Brampton's PathWays System
The Pathways System of Brampton is an important component of the city's open space infrastructure. Pathways knit parks and valleys together and provide convenient pedestrian and cycling routes across Brampton. The City’s PathWays system is multi-use in nature, providing opportunities for pedestrians, cyclists, in-line skaters and other practical and recreational types of trail uses.

The PathWays Master Plan
Brampton's PathWays Master Plan is a bold step in helping the City to improve its pathways trail system. The Plan is comprised of three volumes:
- Brampton’s PathWays Master Plan (Vol. 1) - core objectives and strategic actions
- Brampton’s PathWays Planning and Design Guidelines (Vol. 2) - guidelines to assist the City in the development and maintenance of the pathways system
- Brampton’s Pathways Technical Appendices (Vol. 3) - a record of the public information collected over the course of the plan study
Volumes 1 and 2 are available for viewing by clicking on the links in the menu on the right.
New PathWays Signage (2009)
Brampton's PathWays are undergoing an upgrade in 2009 and 2010. Select primary routes are receiving new signage (comparable to the above picture) for the purposes of orienting users to the trails and paths, as well as recreational amenities along the way.
