 Bike & Ride

Bike & Ride is a green initiative designed to encourage riders to combine two modes of environmentally-friendly transportation: cycling and public transit. With a bike rack on every bus, it's never been easier to move around the city!
expandWhen can I use the bike racks?
The bike racks are available on all routes and can be used at all times. They can hold two bicycles and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. If the bike rack is full, please wait for the next available bus. Our bus operators may refuse access to the bike rack in unsafe weather conditions.
expandWho can use the bike racks?
Anyone can use the bike racks. An adult must supervise riders under the age of 12. You are responsible for loading and securing your bike to the rack. Brampton Transit is not responsible for damages caused by or to bicycles, or for lost or stolen bicycles.
expandHow much does it cost to use the bike racks?
There's no additional cost for using the bike racks – only your regular bus fare.
expandWhat bicycles can I use?
The rack is equipped to carry a standard bicycle with a wheel diameter of at least 41 cm (16 inches). Tricycles, motorized bicycles and bicycles with child carriers or trailers are not allowed.
expandHow do I use the bike racks?
The racks are easy to use and have instruction labels to help you. Before you Bike & Ride, make sure you watch the instructional video.

Bike & Ride Tips

  • Remove any loose items that are not permanently attached to your bicycle (e.g., water bottles or travel bags).
  • If there are no other bicycles on the rack, use the space closest to the bus.
  • Do not lock your bicycle to the rack. The rack arm is designed to keep your bicycle secure while the bus is in transit.
  • Allow passengers to unload their bicycles before loading yours.
  • Sit or stand near the front of the bus when your bicycle is on the rack.
  • Tricycles, motorized bicycles, and bicycles with child carriers or trailers are not allowed on the bike rack.
