The City of Brampton is leading the project to construct infrastructure associated with Brampton Transit’s Züm service along Chinguacousy Road from Sandalwood Parkway to Steeles Avenue. In addition to Züm infrastructure, cycling infrastructure will be upgraded along this section of Chinguacousy Road. See below for timelines:
2022
- Brampton Transit retained a planning consultant to define the extent of the Chinguacousy Road Züm service. The consultant used historical data and travel patterns to determine future routing.
- Mid-2022 The City of Brampton retained an engineering firm to design Züm stations along Chinguacousy Road.
2023
- Fall of 2023 designs were approved by the City of Brampton and a report was approved by council to tender a General Contractor to begin construction of Züm infrastructure along Chinguacousy Road between Sandalwood Parkway and Steeles Avenue.
- Construction is anticipated to begin in late Spring / early Summer of 2024.
