​​​​​​​​​The City’s zoning by-law does not permit boats or trailers to be parked in the front yard or in any side yard that abuts a street. The only exception to this rule is a pop-up camping trailer that is not longer than 5.0 metres (16.4 feet) that is parked/stored in the collapsed position.

  • One of the following may be parked/stored in the rear or interior side yard (between two houses):
    • A utility trailer (max. 7m long and 3m high)
    • A camper trailer (max. 7m long and 3m high)
    • A boat on a trailer (max. 7m long and 3m high)
    • Snowmobiles, watercraft and ATVs on a trailer (max. 7m long and 3m high

  • One of the following may also be parked on the driveway in the front yard (in addition to permitted trailers/recreational vehicles in the rear yard)
    • A camper trailer (max. 5m long and 1.8m high)
    • A boat on a trailer (max. 5m long and 1.8m high)
    • Snowmobiles, watercraft and ATVs on a trailer (max. 5m long and 1.8m high)

  • Temporary Exemptions for Oversized Recreational Equipment Trailers in the front yard on the driveway
    • Camper trailer, boat on trailer or recreational vehicles on trailer up to 7m long and 3m high may be parked on the driveway for a period not exceeding 72 consecutive hours twice per calendar month
    • May not be located in the visibility triangle
    • May not extend onto the sidewalk or past the curb of the street.
