I have been issued a transponder. Where should I put it in my car? |
The transponder must be visible to the ceiling mounted antenna at the gate to ensure the gate will automatically open when you enter or exit. The transponder works best when positioned on the dash or windshield on the driver’s side.
|
Can two people share a transponder? |
No. You can only use the transponder to let your OWN vehicle in and out of the garage. Any abuse of the City’s parking policies will result in the loss of parking privileges at the garage.
|
I have two vehicles. Can I use the transponder in either vehicle? |
Yes. The transponder is transferrable from one vehicle to another. Contact Municipal Parking Operations at 905-874-2500 to ensure your vehicle information is registered.
|
What should I do if I lose my access card or transponder? |
Contact Municipal Parking Operations at 905-874-2500 to report a lost access card or transponder. You will be charged $10 to replace an access card, and $20 to replace a transponder.
|
Do I still need to take a parking ticket when entering if I have a transponder or access card? |
No. If you have a transponder or access card, you do not need to take a ticket
|
Does the City protect against vehicle damage or stolen property? |
The City does not accept responsibility for loss or damage to vehicles or contents. Do not leave valuables in your vehicle and keep your vehicle locked at all times.
|
How do you ensure safety at the parking garages is maintained at all times? |
Brampton’s municipal parking garages are clean, well-lit and most are monitored under 24-hour video surveillance. Parking lot attendants operate the City Hall, Market Square and Nelson Square during regular business hours. Security officers patrol all garages 24 hours a day 7 days per week.
Although the City takes precautions to keep its facilities safe, be aware that dangers to personal safety can exist from time to time within any parking facility. The user of any City parking facility should remain aware of their surroundings at all times and take whatever additional precautions are appropriate to ensure personal safety.
