On Thursday, October 5th, The City of Brampton in partnership with ICUBE
and the RIC Centre will be hosting a hackABILITY
info session at City Hall.
What is it?
hackABILITY will raise awareness about emerging technology opportunities in the area of assistive technology, as well as support collaboration between educational institutions and established businesses. hackABILITY will facilitate the rapid prototyping of devices that may be considered for further development and commercialization.
How does it work?
hackABILITY will bring together teams to create solutions for defined assistive/adaptive needs in the community. hackABILITY teams will consist of at least 4 people including a person with a disability or a caregiver, plus members with experience in design, coding, and engineering. Solutions will be assessed based on innovation, scalability and affordability criteria.
When is it?
Think you have a solution that will take the "dis" out of "disability"?Team applications are open now! Attend our info session on Thursday, October 5th at 6pm at City Hall in Brampton and ask questions.
The deadline for team registration is Thursday, October 12.
The hackABILITY finale will be held on Thursday, December 7th
