Candidate nominations for the 2018 Brampton Municipal Election close on July 27 at 2 pm

​Brampton, ON –  Do you want to serve the people of Brampton in the role of an elected official at Brampton City Hall, the Region of Peel or on a School Board?

Candidates who wish to run in Brampton’s 2018 Municipal Election must file their nomination no later than 2 pm on July 27, 2018.  

The City is accepting nominations for the following offices:
• Mayor
• Regional Councillor
• City Councillor
• School Board Trustee for:
- Peel District School Board
- Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board 
- Conseil scolaire catholique MonAvenir (formerly Conseil scolaire de district catholique Centre-Sud)

Nomination forms and information packages for candidates are available online and at the City Clerk’s Office in Brampton City Hall. Forms must be filed in person during regular office hours, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, on weekdays, and from 9 am to 2 pm on July 27, 2018. Nominations after 2 pm on July 27 will not be accepted.

Nominations for the Office of Region of Peel Chair are being accepted by the Region of Peel, 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton, during regular business hours, until 2 pm on July 27, 2018. Nominations for Conseil scolaire Viamonde are being accepted by the City of Mississauga, 300 City Centre Drive, Mississauga, during regular business hours, until 2 pm on July 27, 2018.

At the time of filing, the fee ($200.00 for Mayor, $100.00 for all other positions) is payable by cash, debit card, certified cheque or money order. Applicants must provide proof of name and qualifying address. Only original documents will be accepted; faxes or other electronic versions are not permitted. All potential candidates must file their Nomination Paper and Endorsement of Nomination form prior to receiving any campaign contributions or spending any funds for election purposes. School board trustee candidates are not required to file an Endorsement of Nomination form.

Third party advertiser registrations can be filed until October 19, 2018.
