Join Parks and Forestry and Bike Brampton on a free bike ride as we learn about the significant trees in our backyard and finish off your ride with a free barbeque!

Residential Tree Giveaway
In celebration of Brampton Tree Month, Brampton residents can register for a free tree. Registration opens September 1st. Quantities are limited. Trees are restricted to one per household and can be planted on private property only (front or back yards). If you received a tree during our Spring Residential Tree Giveaway, you would not qualify for the Fall giveaway. Residents must register to participate and agree to certain conditions. 1 tree per household will be available for pickup in-person on Saturday, September 13th, 9 AM - 2 PM or Wednesday, September 17, 4 PM - 8 PM. You can only register for one date.
Tree Planting Event
Join Scouts and City staff as we plant native trees and shrubs to restore wildlife habitat! Registration opens September 1st.

Art Contest
Create a tree-inspired work of art. Using any medium (painting, sketch, photography, chalk art), show us why you think trees are important in our city.
The art contest will run from September 1 to October 1, 2025. All participants will email a photo of their completed artwork to
BramptonGreenCity@brampton.ca including their full name and email address with their submission.
All participants who complete the contest will be entered into a draw to win a copy of The Hidden Life of Trees by Peter Wohlleben.
Colouring Contest
Are you a child aged 12 years and under? Put your colouring skills to the test and join our Tree Month Colouring Contest. The colouring contest will run from September 1 to October 1, 2025. All participants will email a photo of their completed
colouring sheet and
submission form to
BramptonGreenCity@brampton.ca
All participants who complete the contest will be entered into a draw to win a copy of Can You Hear the Trees Talking by Peter Wohlleben.

Winners may be subject to answering a skill-testing question. Winners consent to having their name and image used in any promotional materials or news items resulting from the contest.

I Hear You, Forest Story Walk in Chinguacousy Park
The City of Brampton, in partnership with Greystone Kids Books and Brampton Library, is proud to present a story walk for the book I Hear You, Forest written by Kallie George and illustrated by Carmen Mok to celebrate Tree Month in Brampton. This beautiful picture book is perfect for all ages to feel more connected to nature.
