NOTABLE ARCHITECTURE
  • With the furthest seat only 90 feet from the stage, every seat is a good seat at The Rose. Its horseshoe shape allows the grand venue to feel warm and intimate, with excellent sight lines.
  • The red stone on the walls is sand stone from England
  • The grey stone on the floors, the staircase, and around the windows is limestone from Canada
  • The coloured stone in the floors and on the counter tops is quartzite from Sweden
  • The stone covering the lighting fixtures is polished onyx from Pakistan
  • All of the red wood, with the exception of the handrails and the armrests, came from two trees in Africa. The trees were shaved down to 1\8 inch of veneer and that veneer was applied to all of the wood surfaces in the building; so that all of the grain runs in the same direction. This process is called bookending.
To provide sound isolation from outside:
  • The theatre is floating on 560 rubber bearing pads.
  • The furnace and the air conditioning system is sitting on 3500 vibration isolators to eliminate sounds and vibrations.
  • The building is isolated from the parking garage to eliminate vibrations from the garage or the railway tracks.
