​City hosts first-ever Sports Day in Brampton

Drop in and try a new sport for free on April 21
 
BRAMPTON, ON –Residents are invited to learn about sports in their community at the City’s first-ever Sports Day in Brampton on April 21.

Try out a new sport at free drop-ins between 10 am and 4 pm at the Brampton Soccer Centre and Cassie Campbell Community Centre. Featured sports include baseball, lacrosse, soccer, track, football, martial arts, gymnastics, wheelchair basketball, hockey, swimming and more.

Programming is provided by the City and its affiliated youth sports organizations, the Brampton Sport Alliance, along with other community sport providers. Families are invited to connect with our local minor sport groups, learn more about their programs and the wide variety of activities available around the city. Get three stamps on an event passport for the chance to win a prize!

Fun Facts:

• Brampton has: 233+ outdoor/indoor sports fields, 36 recreation facilities, 18 ice pads, 13 swimming pools, 7 fitness centres, 4 outdoor skating rinks, 1 9-hole public golf course, and 1 ski hill
• The City’s top three registrations are: swimming, camps, and skating
• There are 21 youth sports affiliate groups with 20,000 participants and 80 adult community groups in the city
