Frequently Asked Questions

All water drainage is handled by utilizing Low Impact Development (LID) technology and best practices. This helps the environmental footprint of the park, as all rainwater and drainage infiltrates naturally back into the ground, rather than being piped into the sewer system. Water from the splash pad is captured in a “nature pond” which is recycled to irrigate the adjacent soccer fields. This reduces overall water consumption and provides an environment-friendly design to reuse any water.

Approximately 2,500 trees and shrubs are planted throughout the park. More than 500 have been planted in partnership with the Credit Valley Conservation Authority to provide a naturalized environment, improve biodiversity, improve stormwater quality, and prevent erosion.
