The City of Brampton's Urban Forestry team is responsible for the planting, maintaining, and removing trees on public property. This includes trees in Brampton's parks, open spaces, and boulevards/street trees.
Residents are responsible for trees on private property and a permit may be required to remove certain trees under the Tree Preservation By-law.

City Property includes boulevards, parks and public spaces.

Private Property includes residential yards and commercial lots.
If you are unsure of the ownership of a tree, please submit a service request and Urban Forestry team will determine ownership.
Services Provided
Services Provided All service requests include an inspection, which will be completed
approximately 90 business days from the initial request. The inspector will leave a “Tree Door Hanger” at your door to confirm that the inspection has been completed.
