Page Content What is Fitness in the Park?Fitness in the Park is a free outdoor fitness program. Various classes will be offered 7 days a week in designated parks across the City of Brampton. Who can participate in a Fitness in the Park class?Fitness in the Park is available for participants ages 6+. Please refer to each program description for specific age group restrictions. How can I participate in a Fitness in the Park class?Advanced registration is required to participate. Registrations are open 3 days in advance for Brampton residents and 2 days in advance for non-residents. Participants can register online using an existing or new City of Brampton Recreation account or by calling 311 for assistance. What is the class size?In accordance with Provincial guidelines, class capacity is set to 25 participants in accordance with provincial guidelines. How long is the class?Fitness in the Park classes are 45 minutes long. Can all levels participate?All fitness levels are welcome to join. You are free to participate in a class at your own pace. What should I bring to class?Participants are asked to wear a non-medical mask, bring water, a towel and a mat. Please dress according to the weather and in comfortable workout attire and athletic footwear. Are masks required?Participants are required to wear a non-medical mask that covers the nose, mouth and chin while signing in, in the staging area, while waiting for class to start and after it ends. Participants are able to remove their mask while exercising, however we recommend masks are worn at all times. Face coverings (i.e. scarves, bandanas, neck gaiters/warmers etc.) are no longer permitted. Masks with exhalation valves are no longer permitted. Participants will be contacted regarding cancellation by phone or email in advance of the scheduled class. What if I can no longer attend?Participants unable to attend their registered timeslot should cancel from their online Recreation account (view "Schedules" in "List View," select "Withdraw" under "Actions"). Participants can also email recreation@brampton.ca or call 311 or the program facility location to cancel the registration more than one hour in advance of the program.
