Campers will enjoy games and activities, attend a Brampton Steelheads hockey game at the CAA Centre, have a visit with the Brampton Steelheads Mascot, and receive a t-shirt and give-a-ways.Who are the Brampton Steelheads?The Brampton Steelheads are a Canadian junior ice hockey team in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), based in Brampton, Ontario. The Steelheads play their home games at the CAA Centre in Brampton. The team relocated from nearby Mississauga in 2024. As the Mississauga Steelheads, the team previously won the Emms Trophy as regular season champions of the Central division and the Bobby Orr Trophy as playoffs champions of the Eastern conference during the 2016–17 OHL season. For more information visit https://chl.ca/ohl-steelheads/When is the Brampton Steelheads Hockey game?All March Break camps will attend a Brampton Steelheads hockey game on Tuesday, March 17 at the CAA Centre. The game starts at 12:30 pm.How will the campers get to and from the game?All camps will be taking a school bus to and from the CAA centre during camp hours. Campers will arrive back at their designated locations prior to camp pick up time.Why am I paying an additional fee of $35 for this week of camp?An additional fee of $35 will be added to all March Break camps to cover the cost of the game ticket, popcorn, transportation to and from the CAA Centre, t-shirt, and activities.Can I opt out of the Brampton Steelhead activities?If you would like to opt of the planned activities, you will need to register in person at a recreation centre to waive the additional camp fees. Please note, by opting out, your child will not attend the game or receive a t-shirt. Campers who wish to not attend the game, will be able to stay at their camp location and participate in fun-filled camp activities with a camp leader. How do I receive a refund for the $35 if my child is not attending themed activities?All refunds must be requested no later than Monday, March 9, 2026 by one of the following options:In-person at your local Recreation Centre Email Recreationadmin@brampton.ca Call 311 Can I pay the additional fee with my Active Assist funds?Yes, if you are an approved ActiveAssist client, your Active Assist funds can be used for this additional $35.Media and PhotographyPlease be advised, photos and video will be taken throughout the event which may include images of participants and staff. Please connect with your camp director upon check-in with any concerns.Will concessions be available for purchase?Concessions will not be available for purchase to campers. However, all campers will receive popcorn at CAA as a part of the game experience.
