2025 Brampton Grow Green Festival: Wetlands

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​You're invited! Join us at the free family-friendly festival for all ages celebrating World Environment Day, the inauguration of the Etobicoke Creek Wetlands Enhancement Project, and Brampton's​ environmental community.

Walki​ng and Rolling

  • Paul Palleschi Recreation Centre is accessible by walking and rolling for nearby residents
  • Pathways within the event area are wheelchair accessible with some slopes​
  • Please use sidewalks and marked pedestrian crossings

E-scooters

  • Brampton'​s​ shared e-scooter system is back for a third season and e-scooters are currently available to rent throughout the city. Consider taking an e-scooter instead to this event. For more information, visit https://www.brampton.ca/escooters

Free Shuttle Bus Service from Jim Archdekin Recreation Centre

  • A free Brampton Transit shuttle bus will run continuously between Jim Archdekin Recreation Centre and Paul Palleschi Recreation Centre
  • Please plan ahead and allow extra time for boarding

The City of Brampton's Active Transportation team will be gearing up for Bike Month! Learn about new walking and cycling infrastructure in the city, share your opinions about new projects and plans, and stop by for free giveaways.

City of Brampton's Animal Services Team

Visit the Animal Services team to play spin the wheel game for a chance to win fun prizes. Grab fun activity sheets on wildlife in Brampton and learn about responsible pet ownership.

City of Brampton's Community Safety & Wellbeing Office

Drop by the Community Safety & Well-Being booth to learn more about the Ready, Set, Collect litter reduction online competition! Log your litter cleanup for a chance to top the leaderboard!

City of Brampton's Cultural Programming Team

Make your very own mini mosaic using tiny tiles created from recycled materials! Drawing inspiration from the mosaic mural on the Loafer's Lake Boathouse Bunkie and the surrounding natural environment, participants are invited to participate in a hands-on workshop led by artists, Cristina Delago and Bianca Delmar. All ages, abilities, and levels of art experience are welcome!

City of Brampton's Energy Management Team

Drop by to see a live demonstration of the City's Building Automation System, highlighting how it enhances energy efficiency, maximizes cost recovery, and reduces corporate Green House Gas (GHG) emissions. Also, explore the City's EV charging station portfolio and discover other innovative projects driving sustainability across Brampton.

City of Brampton's Grow Green Team

Visit the Grow Green booths to learn what the City is doing in regards to climate change, natural heritage restoration and support for our pollinators through games, the wetland model and mapping activities. Take home a native seed package and a pollinator habitat sign for those with applicable gardens.

City of Brampton's Parks Community Development

The Parks Community Development team will be challenging your knowledge of Brampton Parks in a game of trivia! Visit our booth and answer a question about invasive species, wildlife, parks facts or pollinators for a chance to win some parks swag.

City of Brampton's Recreation's Ready Set Play Van

Ready, Set, Play is Brampton's Mobile Recreation Van, which provides fun activities and recreation information for all residents. Participate in try-it programs and have fun! Comfortable clothing and running shoes are recommended, but not required for participation.

City of Brampton's Stormwater Program Team

The Stormwater Programs team will be providing an interactive demonstration on urban stormwater management. Learn how to prevent stormwater pollution at home to keep our waterways clean, explore flood prevention strategies and staying safe around stormwater ponds. Stop by the booth to participate in fun activities and get a chance to win exciting prizes!

Brampton Environmental Alliance (BEA)

The BEA will provide information on the ten one-planet living principles, how to live more sustainably on a finite planet including display of bike lights and accessories, waste reduction strategies, plant-based protein recipes, challenges and quizzes about one-planet living.

Brampton Horticultural Society (BHS)

BHS will be nurturing visitors' passion for gardening, conservation and the environment by sharing our knowledge, ideas and answering questions. We will be encouraging visitors to join our group so they may participate in our projects, share their knowledge and work collectively, thereby enriching the City of Brampton.

​Brampton Library

Come and join us for a fun, hands-on seed planting activity where families can learn, plant together, and take home their own starter seeds! Checkout the showcase of our outdoor "Library of Things," which includes items like bird kits, telescopes, outdoor games, park passes, and of course, the Seed Library. Brampton Library's Seed Library lets families borrow free seeds to grow their own plants at home. View 3D-printed turtles at various stages of the creation process at our booth and learn about our  Climate Book Club.

Centre for Community Energy Transformation (CCET)

CCET provides programs and education for energy efficiency and solutions to climate crisis. CCET will have free energy efficiency coaching and information about current programs and cost-saving opportunities.

Circular Innvoation Council 

The Circular Innovation Council's Share Reuse Repair Hub is all about the circular economy—a way of keeping things in use and out of the landfill. Can you guess how many jellybeans are in the jar, equal to the number of circular businesses in Peel Region listed on the Hub? Stop by and learn how to mend your clothing, a great way you can save money and keep your clothes around for longer.

Community Climate Council (CCC)

We are a youth-led movement, mobilizing folks at the community level, striving for a just and habitable future. CCC will be hosting a Climate Change Trivia activity where participants can answer local climate-related questions. Participants will have the chance to enter a raffle for exciting prizes!

Credit Valley Conservation

Visit the CVC booth for a fun, hands-on experience! Explore the amazing wildlife that calls our watershed home and discover how you can help protect local green spaces. Plus, learn about the Fletchers Creek SNAP program, our free tree giveaways, and ways to get involved in your community!

Different Spokes B​​​rampton Bike Hub and Punjabi Community Health Services

Different Spokes Bike Hub will be offering free minor tune-ups, safety checks, helmet & bike fittings, and route planning in parks all over Brampton! Visit us to get your tires pumped, brakes checked, and find new trails to explore this summer.

Enbridge Gas

Drop by to get informational brochures and get your questions answered about Enbridge's Home Renovation Savings program and Home Winterproofing Program (HWP). There will also be a raffle draw for 3 winners to win a sustainability prize pack, free swag giveaways, and also free children's activities and giveaways.​

EnviroMuslims

Heart Lake Turtle Troopers

Join the Heart Lake Turtle Troopers and dive into a turtle-tastic adventure! Discover the fascinating world of our local turtles and learn how you can be their hero. Check out our 3D turtles and test your skills in our turtle identification contest. Let's shell-ebrate and protect these awesome creatures together!

Pick a beautiful design and have Zainab draw it on your skin with Henna. Zainab Tamkeen, professional henna artist with over 20 years of experience celebrating culture, creativity, and self-expression. Kudrat Di Rakhia (KDR)

KDR promotes environmental sustainability through a Sikh lens. KDR will host an upcycling craft workshop to encourage people to start their home gardens. Different objects such as thrifted pots, jars, soda cans, juice cartons will be available for participants to fill up with soil and seeds!

Ontario Federation of Anglers & Hunters (OFAH)

Visit OFAH's Invading Species Awareness Program booth to learn more about the invasive species impacting Ontario and how you can help stop the spread. We have plenty of free resources, including stickers, field guides, and posters, and even a 'Make Your Own Button' activity for kids.

Ontario Streams

Ontario Streams will be sharing information on local endangered species and their habitats. Visit the booth to receive a variety of resources on how you can get involved in taking action to protect our local environment.

Peel Region

Learn more about Peel Region's waste management system and how you can become more sustainable by switching from non-reusable to reusable items. Participate in our reusable pledge board activity, take home informative pamphlets, and grab some reusable item giveaways!

Photo Booth by Imagica

Strike a pose with nature! 📸 Visit Imagica's photo booth at the Grow Green Festival and snap a selfie with the beautifully restored landscape as your backdrop. Choose to have the photo emailed or texted directly to you! It's the perfect way to capture a moment with your family and friends at this special community celebration and have memorable digital keepsake!

Skills for Change - Youth Climate Action Initiative (YCAI)

Join the Youth Climate Action Initiative (YCAI) Booth for an exciting Eco-Jeopardy trivia challenge! Test your knowledge on climate action, sustainability, and environmental justice while learning about our upcoming YCAI Cohort 2—a program empowering youth to lead impactful sustainability projects. Stop by for a fun, interactive experience and discover how you can get involved in shaping a greener future!

Toronto and Region Conservation (TRCA)

TRCA will showcase the Youth Council membership, the Multicultural Connections Program (MCP), the Bramalea SNAP program, and the importance of native plants and insects through interactive activities and displays.

Wild Ontario

Come learn about some of Ontario's most incredible predators, and to meet the birds up close. A face-to-face encounter with a hawk or owl is something you will never forget. Based at the University of Guelph, Wild Ontario works with live birds-of-prey to teach about science and nature.
