Is the Automated Speed Enforcement program still active? Do I still need to pay my ticket?
On September 25, 2025, the Ontario government announced its plan to introduce legislation in October 2025 to ban the use of Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) cameras across the province.
Until the legislation is enacted, ASE cameras in Brampton remain active. Tickets continue to be issued, and all existing tickets are valid and must be paid or appealed by their due date.
The City of Brampton’s priority remains the safety of its road users and residents. If passed, the City will comply with Provincial legislation. In the meantime, ASE continues to operate as part of the City’s traffic safety efforts.
