BRAMPTON, ON — The City of Brampton is recognizing Fire Prevention Week from October 5 to 11, 2025, with Brampton Fire and Emergency Services leading citywide activities that began with the October 4 kickoff and continue throughout the month through open houses, community displays and public engagements. This year’s theme, Charge into Fire Safety: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home, highlights the importance of battery safety and fire prevention in daily life.

October 7
- 3:30 to 7 pm: Station 208 Open House, 120 Fernforest Dr.
October 9- 3:30 to 7 pm: Station 204 Open House, 657 Queen St. W.
October 11
- 8 am to 1 pm: Farmers’ Market, 2 Wellington St. W.
- 9 am to 12 pm: Home Depot – South, 49 First Gulf Blvd.
- 9 am to 12 pm: Home Depot – North, 60 Great Lakes Dr.
- 9 am to 12 pm: Home Depot – West, 9515 Mississauga Rd.
- 9 am to 12 pm: Home Depot – East, 9105 Airport Rd.
October 14

October 16

Lithium-ion batteries power many of our everyday devices, but if not handled correctly, they can pose a fire risk. Residents are encouraged to:
- Buy only tested and certified products
- Charge devices safely
- Dispose of or recycle batteries responsibly
- Avoid overcharging
Fire Prevention Week promotes fire safety year-round through activities like testing smoke alarms and creating family escape plans. These events offer opportunities to learn about fire safety, see demonstrations and engage with Brampton Fire personnel.
