Labour Day 2022 in Brampton

​BRAMPTON, ON (August 31, 2022) – Labour Day takes place on Monday, September 5. Here is what you need to know about City of Brampton services that day.

All essential and critical services, including Fire and Emergency Services, Traffic Services, By-Law Enforcement, Road Operations, and Security Services will continue to operate as usual to support the community.

Residents can call 311 or 905.874.2000 (outside of Brampton), use the Brampton 311 app (available on App Store or Google Play), visit www.311brampton.ca or email 311@brampton.ca for any inquiries. We are available 24/7 for any City of Brampton or Region of Peel matters.

Fireworks Safety

The City of Brampton will not be hosting any fireworks displays on Labour Day and personal fireworks are not permitted.

Labour Day is not one of the four days of the year when personal fireworks are allowed in the City of Brampton. For more information, visit www.brampton.ca/bylaws

Brampton Transit 
 
Brampton Transit will be operating on a Sunday/Holiday schedule on Labour Day. Customer Service counters at the terminals are closed. The Contact Centre is available to assist from 7 am to 9 pm. 
 
​Effective Tuesday, September 6, Brampton Transit will implement service changes to ensure its transit system continues to move people around the city effectively.

Brampton Parks

All Brampton recreational trails, playgrounds, and parks, including off-leash dog parks, remain open on Labour Day. Physical activity is important for everyone’s health and wellbeing! Visit www.brampton.ca/parks to discover our parks and recreational trails.

Brampton Recreation

Select City of Brampton Recreation Centres are open for limited programs and services on Labour Day. Holiday hours can be viewed here.

Enjoy the last weekend of summer outdoors! Professor’s Lake Beach and Boathouse and Eldorado Park Outdoor Pool will be closed for the season as of Tuesday, September 6.
 
Chinguacousy Park Wading Pool will be open on weekends only after Labour Day and closing for the season as of September 12. Visit www.brampton.ca/chingpark for updates on park amenities.

Brampton Library

All Brampton Library branches will be closed on Labour Day.

Brampton Animal Services

The Brampton Animal Shelter will be closed on Labour Day. Animal Control will be on the road from 8 am to 6:30 pm and will continue to respond to emergency calls outside of these hours.
