​BRAMPTON, ON (June 17, 2021) – Brampton City Council authorized an investigation into a complaint letter received April 22, 2021, regarding allegations of administrative conduct including personnel matters and adherence to policies which it takes very seriously. On May 19, 2021, Council announced a 30-day review of the complaint led by a third party firm Deloitte LLP which is underway.

At its April 23 Special Council Meeting, Council provided direction to launch the investigation and for the matter to be forwarded the Ontario Ombudsman and the Peel Regional Police.

On June 15, 2021, the City received correspondence from Peel Regional Police indicating they will not be reviewing this matter further at this time. The letter states: “no criminal wrongdoing has been discovered”, and that “at this time we are considering the matter closed”.

On May 27, 2021, the City received correspondence from the Office of the Ontario Ombudsman indicating they will not be reviewing this matter further at this time. The letter states that for the reasons contained in the letter, that the Ombudsman’s Office has “completed their consideration of these matters” and that “given these circumstances, we will not be reviewing this matter further”.
