BRAMPTON, ON (June 24, 2020) – Today, the City of Brampton is entering the next phase of its recovery following the Government of Ontario’s announcement allowing the Region of Peel to move to Stage 2 of the provincial reopening.
As part of Stage 2, the City will safely reopen the following services, facilities and amenities:
Summer CampsThe City of Brampton is offering modified summer camps from July 13 to September 4, for children ages 4 to 10. Registration opens June 29, online and through 311. To ensure the safety of all participants, programming will include an increased amount of individualized indoor and outdoor activities. Additional enhanced safety measures will also be in place, including:
• A maximum of eight participants and two instructors per camp group
• Personal protective equipment worn by camp leaders
• Increased cleaning and disinfecting at all facilities
Splash Pads and Professor’s LakeSplash pads across Brampton will open Saturday, June 27.
The City anticipates opening Professor’s Lake mid-July and the public will have access to the beach through reservation bookings.
Arenas: Figure Skating/ Hockey Training Starting June 29, arenas will open for training only. No walk-ins will be accepted at this time and bookings will be through City staff at 905-874-BOOK. Rental bookings will start June 25. Enhanced safety measures include limiting use to a maximum of 10 participants, including coaches. There will be no access to change rooms at this time.
Sports Fields, Track & Field, Basketball CourtsBeginning June 26, outdoor basketball courts will be available for public use.
On July 3, outdoor sports fields and batting cages will be available for permitted use for training only. No walk-ins will be accepted at this time and bookings will be through City staff at 905-874-BOOK. There will be no access to change rooms. A maximum of 10 participants will be allowed per field, including coaches.
Patio BramptonStarting today, the City is accepting applications from food establishments for Temporary Patio Expansions. Restaurants and bars in Brampton are permitted to expand their patios onto sidewalks and private parking areas to accommodate more outdoor seating space. Brampton LibraryBrampton Library is preparing to introduce a contactless curbside pickup service at select branch locations as phase 2 of its reopening plan, in consultation with the City of Brampton and Peel Public Health. Details are available at
