​​​BRAMPTON, ON (September 26, 2025) – This October, the City of Brampton is celebrating Small Business Month by spotlighting the vital role entrepreneurs play in driving innovation, creating jobs and strengthening the local economy. Of the more than 110,000 businesses in Brampton, small businesses make up 90 per cent, and the City is dedicated to providing the resources and support they need to succeed.

The Brampton Entrepreneur Centre (BEC), part of the City’s Economic Development Office (EDO), will host free workshops, mentorship programs, networking events and online learning opportunities throughout the month. These initiatives are designed to help business owners at every stage of growth build skills, connect with peers and expand their operations. ​

Highlights of Small Business Month programming include:

  • Business Fundamentals: Essentials for startups, including My Canadian Startup, Business Model Canvas, Pitch Training and How to Start a Small Business.
  • Partner-Led Workshops: Expert-led sessions covering topics such as CRA tax obligations, business loans and funding programs, leveraging AI for startups and navigating government tools and resources.
  • Marketing Essentials: Practical seminars and webinars on branding, social media, eCommerce, paid advertising SEO fundamentals and more.
  • Networking Opportunities: Brampton Ignite – a popular networking event.
  • Tariffs / Go Global: The Economic Development Office is actively supporting local businesses in their efforts to diversify and grow in new markets. The City of Brampton remains committed to fostering a thriving business community. Through the work of EDO and BEC, entrepreneurs receive mentorship, training and information that help position them for success and contribute to the city’s economic growth. The City is committed to celebrating the creativity, resilience and innovation of local business owners who drive economic development and create jobs.

The BEC now offers extended office hours, open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday until 6 pm, Tuesday until 8 pm and Friday until 4 pm, offering entrepreneurs more opportunities to access guidance, co-working space and business resources. ​
