​​​​​​​​​BRAMPTON, ON (September 5, 2025) – The City of Brampton has once again been recognized as one of Canada’s top locations to invest by Site Selection Magazine. This marks the fourth time Brampton has earned a national ranking, reinforcing the city’s position as a premier hub for business growth and investment.

Brampton’s central location within Canada’s Innovation Corridor, highly skilled workforce and robust infrastructure continue to attract corporate investment and create jobs. The City’s economic development efforts focus on key sectors​ including innovation and technology, advanced manufacturing, food and beverage processing and health and life sciences.

Recent investments include a diverse:

  • HelloFresh expanded into Brampton with a 200,000 sq. ft. facility, creating 600 new jobs.
  • Encore Canada, the largest provider of event technology in Canada, is opening a 153,000 sq. ft. headquarters that will employ more than 200 people.
  • Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) School of Medicine created 1,588 full-time faculty and staff positions and supports up to 18,976 jobs across Ontario.
  • Stellantis opened a 500,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art MOPAR Parts Distribution Centre​, representing a $25.1 million investment employing 250 workers.
  • Handi-Foods opened their first manufacturing facility in Brampton, a $25 million investment, creating 175 new jobs.
  • Marco Angelo Foods – $70 million investment, creating 300 new jobs in a 116,000 sq. ft. facility
  • Mobile Thermal Solutions – $80 million investment, creating 600 new jobs in a 250,000 sq. ft. facility
  • Schenker of Canada – $20 million investment, creating 65 new jobs in a 128,000 sq. ft. facility
  • Azelis – $20 million investment, creating 70 new jobs in a 70,000 sq. ft. facility
  • Niche Bakers – 120,000 sq. ft. facility creating 600 new jobs
  • 55H, in partnership with Core Data Centres, announced a major expansion of its data centre at 55 Hereford, adding 20MW of capacity. 

Brampton’s Innovation District continues to support emerging businesses and startups, providing access to mentorship, funding and networking opportunities. In 2024, the district:

  • Graduated 126 startups through Innovation District programs
  • Helped raise $37 million in investments for participating companies and alumni
  • Filed 19 patents by companies and alumni
  • Hosted 321 events with over 9,000 participants
  • Invested over $2.3 million into the Canadian early-stage startup ecosystem through the Brampton Innovation District and Brampton Angels ​

Brampton’s business-friendly environment is further enhanced through a suite of financial incentives, including the city-wide Community Improvement Plan (CIP) and Development Charges (DC) bylaw, which supports office employment and mixed-use developments through tax grants and DC exemptions. ​

To determine its rankings Site Selection Magazine considers corporate facility projects, capital investment and job creation over a specified period. The City of Brampton’s Economic Development Office (EDO) is also an Accredited Economic Development Organization (AEDO), recognizing its professional excellence in attracting and supporting business investment.
