BRAMPTON, ON (July 15, 2025) – Mayor Patrick Brown’s Hockey Night in Brampton welcomes two of Canada’s most celebrated women’s hockey players, Blayre Turnbull and Renata Fast, to this year’s all-star event taking place on Wednesday, August 20 at the CAA Centre.

Both Olympic gold medallists and prominent leaders in the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL), Turnbull and Fast bring elite talent, experience and inspiration to the ice. Their addition highlights Hockey Night in Brampton’s continued effort to showcase not only NHL stars and rising prospects but also the best in Canadian women’s hockey.
Rod Black returns to Hockey Night in Brampton
Rod Black, one of the most recognized voices in Canadian sports broadcasting, returns to Hockey Night in Brampton in his signature dual role as referee and event host. Known for his energy, storytelling and love for the game, Black brings a unique presence fans look forward to every year.

Blayre Turnbull
Blayre Turnbull is a two-time Olympic medallist and one of Canada’s most respected forwards in women’s hockey. A consistent contributor on the international stage, she helped Canada capture gold at both the 2022 Beijing Olympics and the 2021 and 2022 IIHF Women’s World Championships. Turnbull is currently Captain for the Toronto Sceptres, where she brings speed, leadership and championship experience to every shift.
Renata Fast
Renata Fast is a world-class defenceman with Olympic gold (2022) and silver (2018) medals and has been a cornerstone of Team Canada for nearly a decade. Known for her speed, defensive awareness and strong leadership, Fast plays alongside Blayre Turnbull with the Toronto Sceptres and continues to be a driving force in advancing the women’s game.
