BRAMPTON, ON (March 9, 2023) – The City of Brampton continues to advocate for growth and sustainability initiatives with both federal and provincial partners.
As part of that advocacy, the City has submitted detailed provincial and federal pre-budget submissions focusing on strategic funding to move key city building priorities forward.
The City of Brampton is constantly looking for ways to strengthen its partnerships with all orders of governments to advance projects which focus on long-lasting economic impact, job creation, civic pride and improve the overall quality of life for residents.
Key partnership asks from the Government of Canada include:
• Create more attainable housing through the Housing Accelerator Fund and Housing Catalyst Capital Project
• Modernize transit by electrifying Brampton’s third transit facility, investing in LRT and BRT
• Support innovation by growing Brampton’s Innovation District
• Expand active transportation by increasing the Active Transportation Fund
• Take climate action by partnering on net-zero energy community centre retrofits and greening the City’s fleet

• Offer more housing choices by streamlining approvals, helping the City meet provincial housing targets
• Modernize transit by electrifying Brampton’s third transit facility, investing in LRT and BRT
• Bettering healthcare by advancing Phase II of Peel Memorial & Cancer Care Centre
• Support economic development by increasing funding to MEDJCT and the Brampton Entrepreneur Centre
• Strengthen Municipal sustainability by adjusting Provincial Gas Tax and ‘heads and beds’ formula to inflation
